When I opened one door, I never expected just how many more would open after. The people I have met and experiences I have had on this journey have made me realize the opportunities in life really are endless.
I was working nonstop, including nights and weekends, losing precious time with my family. Being new to real estate while still working my day job, I was balancing a lot of roles at once. Little did I know just how quickly my career in real estate would take off.
In 2017, I worked 50 hours a week at my day job, then spent my evenings helping my clients in real estate. I knew early on real estate was what I wanted to do full time; I just needed to build my business enough to provide for my family before taking the leap.
I juggled both jobs for 18 months, stretching myself paper thin every single day. I focused on absorbing everything I could in both roles, trying to gain the skills to help me create the best experience for my clients while establishing a highly efficient process. And it paid off. During the second year of my real estate career, I matched my day job salary in just six months. Real estate was my future.
Realizing just how much time I was losing with my family was my final deciding factor. I loved real estate and proved I could be successful; that was all I needed to take the plunge and go full time. It was the best decision I ever made. Nothing compares to delivering good news to my clients and impacting their lives. Helping people is so exciting and fun – that’s what I wanted more of in my professional life and I found through real estate.
The sense of relief I felt when I could give all my attention to my clients and family was indescribable. For all that time, I held on to so much stress and pressure to do well in all areas of my life. I could finally focus on things I am truly passionate about.
Looking back, I can’t believe I worked two jobs for that long. It is a testament to the great work ethic that was instilled in me from a young age. Both my dad and stepdad were very influential in my life. They both worked extremely hard to provide a great life for me while still being very involved in everything I did.
Now, I prioritize spending quality time with my family. Even those brief moments taking my daughter Isabella to gymnastics and dance give us quality time together. My wife and I have taken every opportunity we can to be together as a family with Isabella and our 1-year-old son, Jackson.
Continuing to grow and improve is what motivates me every day. With the success I have found in real estate, I try to give back to my community and continue developing the relationships I have made. I enjoy sponsoring golf events for various organizations and charities. It’s a great way to support a cause while building those relationships that have impacted our lives so much.
Never did I expect how many doors would open for my family and me as a result of real estate. My wife has even been offered jobs through the connections I have made – having that trust in us is the ultimate compliment. My wife is now pursuing her dream of opening a brunch restaurant in Cedarburg. I’m happy to support her dreams just as she supported mine.
It is incredible to see how far good intentions can get you in life. People in our community know our values and our good intentions. We are endlessly grateful for the people we have met on this journey and our growing ties with our community.
